the Aylesbury Learning Centre
Our key aim for the Aylesbury Learning Centre is to provide a place for local people to meet, learn and achieve. More specifically in the management of the Centre we will be looking for projects to contribute to:
- Creating and developing a focus for learning activities for the local community
- To contribute to the operation of the Centre in such a way that it maximises both the use of local resources and usage by local residents
- To develop programmes designed to combat social and economic exclusion through offering flexible learning opportunities appropriate to the needs of local people at times which make it easier for them to get involved
- To ensure that the local residents acquire the skills and confidence to enable them to compete effectively in the jobmarket
- To use ICT and marketing creatively to encourage local residents to adopt a positive attitude to lifelong learning
Further Information: Booklet Spring 2010
The Centre includes areas available for large and small group training activities, interview rooms for one-to-one sessions, an Internet Access area, crèche area and rest room.
In order to make full use of the resources we support projects able to integrate their specialist skills into the overall aims of the Centre and to share in the common facilities.
